New Workshop and Class Payment Policy…

Workshops at High Street Quilting

Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
If, for some reason, you need to cancel your place, please contact us at High Street Quilting as soon as possible. A full refund will be given if you cancel your place at least 15 days prior to the date of the class/course or session starting. If it is less than 15 days away, 50% of the cost will be refunded. If it is within 48 hours of the class/course or session starting, a refund cannot be given. Also, no refund can be given if you fail to attend for any reason.
Our classes require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies and tools, booking staff and making commitments to pay our tutors. When students ask to cancel, we lose money. As a small business, it is very difficult to absorb these costs.
If, for some reason, High Street Quilting needs to cancel a class/course or session, an alternative date will be provided or a full refund given.

Workshop prices vary according to type, duration and materials supplied.

Regular Classes and Sit and Sew Sessions.

Due to the high and increasing demand for places at our regular sewing sessions, we will now require full payment for each month, in advance, or for the duration of the project. Taught classes are priced at £10/session and Sociable Sit and Sew £5/session.

I know you will understand.

Thank you

And finally…

There may be turbulent times ahead with Brexit etc, but here at High Street Quilting, our focus will continue to be on building small friendship groups and supporting our local community.

Our customers tell us that they love to come to our little haven, filled with lovely fabrics and inspiration.
But, it doesn’t come cheaply. Our “bricks and mortar” shop has enormous overheads and our fabrics are chosen especially, for their quality and beauty rather than price.
People often suggest that we should “go online” but that isn’t what we’re about, is it?
We may, at some point, sell some fabrics online, but for me, the essence of our shop is personal service and community. Neither of which you can find “online”

We seem to be swimming against the tide at the moment but Jayne and I will be working our socks off to keep at least one little shop on our high street, against all the odds.

I really didn’t like creating a payment policy. I would rather be flexible and try to accommodate everyone. But I can’t. With a huge and growing customer base, we need full classes and groups and we need our regular customers to attend regularly so that we know where there are spaces for new people.

My favourite part of our shop is watching experienced stitchers helping novices. It’s such a joy to see people inspired and enthusiastic about their next project. We’re all learning and improving our skills. And that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?
Giving it a go… For fun… Expressing ourselves creatively…. Sharing our skills

Whatever the next few months bring.. let’s keep on quilting and keep on sharing.
With love,
Hilary x
