What Shall I Bring to The Class?
It’s a question I hear many times and, as you can imagine, the answer is different for all classes and workshops.
Sometimes you will require a sewing machine other times a needle and thread will suffice.
But every time, I am tempted to say – Bring yourself, a sewing kit and a sunny disposition.
When you are getting ready to go out to a group or an event it is normal to be a little bit nervous.
What should I wear? Who will be there? What if I don’t understand?
Here at High Street Quilting (and I’m sure all of the local sewing shops and groups) we want you to be comfortable and to enjoy learning something new.
And- everything is easier if we all share our ideas, our knowledge and our good humour.
Workshops and regular classes are great ways to meet other people and to share our experiences and our joys and troubles. In this age of TV and Internet we can find ourselves more lonely and isolated than ever before. Coming to a group may seem daunting and even frightening. The less we go out – the less able we feel to do so.
Let’s all try to be even more aware of the difficulties we all face from time to time and put on our brave faces, pack our open minds and our good humour in our sewing kits and help to make our own experience and that of those around us, a little more fun.
with love,
Hilary xx
