And now… The difficult bit….
After 12.5 years of happy times at High Street Quilting it is time for me to hand over this amazing business to someone with as much enthusiasm for our craft as me. (hopefully)
I have decided to put up for sale, the business and the property.
I know that you will understand and appreciate the time, the energy and the love that I have poured into making High Street Quilting the wonderful oasis of patchwork fabric and quilting hub that it is.
Birtley is such a wonderful site for our shop. HSQ has thrived here and has benefited in so many ways from the support of our neighbouring shopkeepers, our amazing customers and most of all –
Jayne – my right-arm.
It is my intention to retire by Easter next year. Until then, we will carry on as usual, with beautiful fabrics to sell and friendly classes to host. In the meantime I would be very grateful if you would pass on this news to anyone that you think may be interested in taking on this fantastic opportunity and direct them to the estate agent – Rook Matthews Sayer.
You can find details on their website and on Right move Commercial.

My reasons for taking this decision are multiple and varied. But I’m sure you will appreciate that it is a decision that I have not taken lightly.
Please spread the word near and far and hopefully, before too long, we’ll find someone who is excited to take on this amazing opportunity.
With love,
Hilary x
